Presentation
From door to door or at home around the piano, Anglo-Saxons love to sing Christmas carols. In this great tradition of Christmas Caroling, the " Make Christmas Great Again" Christmas choir, from the association La Guilde de la Transmission, will perform a cappella and in four voices, the most famous Christmas songs, as well as a few rarities arranged by them. The magic of Christmas will tinkle in your ears.
" Make Christmas Great Again " has fun lighting up the ears of its audience, taking them on a journey to the land of Christmas magic, lulled by rich harmonies, all containing real Proust's madeleines to recapture the sweetness of childhood.
The 4 vocalists also like to add a touch of humour, off-beat, second degree, by involving the audience. They take great care in interpreting these traditional songs, but they also have fun playing the troublemaker, to make Christmas a celebration.
Join them in the abbey church on Friday 27 December 2024 for a musical break at 2pm and 3.30pm!
The Transmission Guild
La Guilde de la Transmission is an association focusing on heritage, particularly intangible heritage. Its specific areas of expertise include the collection, dissemination and transmission of so-called traditional or repertory music. Promoting, publicising and performing this music is at the heart of their mission.
In addition to this specificity, the Guilde de la transmission also proposes to work on the notion of heritage in the broadest sense, and to work on intangible heritage in all its forms (industrial, scientific, dances, languages).
Through dialogue with the public, and by combining the expertise of a collector with artistic and educational skills, the Guild's work will not only enhance the cultural heritage held by local people, but also encourage a spirit of curiosity about the wealth of local heritage, both tangible and intangible, known and unknown. The Guild will also be able to provide support for the research process, so that the public can play an active role in promoting their own heritage, particularly through initiatives aimed at young people.
