ON THE PROGRAMME
Nayan, a Brazilian artist from Bahia, has been thrilling European audiences with her spellbinding concerts, blending popular music and traditional Brazilian rhythms with a jazz flavour.
Nayan arrived in France with a wealth of Brazilian folk music under her belt, and formed the group NayaN alongside Rennes-based musicians with a passion for jazz: Paul Andrzejewski on guitar, Ewan Baker on saxophones and Emilien Landais on trumpet.
After four years together and over a hundred private and public concerts, including jazz and world music festivals, NayaN never stops innovating. The group will take you to the beaches of Rios, through the streets of Salvador de Bahia, to the rhythm of beautiful, warm and intimate bossas-novas, popular sambas and a few jazz-flavoured surprises, as well as their own moving, upbeat compositions that incorporate funk and soul influences, offering a spellbinding musical fusion!
Facing the bay, as the sea surrounds the rock, come and listen to NayaN from the terrace of Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey in the soft light of the fading day.
