As part of the Printemps des Savoir-Faire, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and the Etablissement Public du Mont-Saint-Michel are pleased to offer family activities in the Scriptorium, the last room on the tour.

April 22 and 23 : Stone cutting workshop

The association Pierre & Masse proposes a stone-cutting workshop to discover the materials used in stone-cutting and to learn about this know-how. You will be able to reproduce the gestures of medieval stonecutters and leave with your creations!

The association Pierre & Masse

The association Pierre & Masse is an association under the law of 1901 created in October 2002. Its ambition is to promote the old and new built heritage in the Cotentin bocage and to raise awareness about ecological renovation. Pierre et Masse relies on means such as sharing, transmission of rural know-how and techniques that enhance local natural resources.

Its animators are all involved in the conservation of heritage, both monumental and rural: stone cutting, earthen constructions, masonry...

April 29 and 30: Stained glass and coat of arms workshops

The art of stained glass:

Children dive into the world of the stained glass master and discover what stained glass is - an essential element of medieval buildings - by making a personalized paper stained glass window. The stained glass windows of Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey will no longer hold any secrets for you!

The making of coats of arms:

The history of heraldry is rich, between symbolism of colors and choice of shapes, find Touches of History to make your individual coat of arms - in the colors of Mont-Saint-Michel or Normandy - on featherboard.
